An exclusive apparel design project for the Amikom Purwokerto Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) community, specifically tailored for the "Scientist Club" cohort established in 2005. The goal was to create a premium, timeless varsity jacket that fosters a sense of pride, identity, and academic unity while maintaining a modern streetwear aesthetic.

THE CHALLENGE

Academic merchandise often falls into the trap of looking rigid, overly formal, or unappealing for daily wear outside the campus environment. The challenge was to bridge corporate academic branding (Diktisaintek Berdampak and FIK Amikom) with contemporary youth culture, translating complex community values into a bold, wearable graphic layout that students would proudly style anywhere.

OUR APPROACH

We adopted a "Classic Ivy League meets Modern Technologist" strategy. By deconstructing traditional university varsity aesthetics, we repositioned the computer science element into something prestigious and retro-cool. We focused heavily on spatial balance, typography scaling, and dynamic patch placements across the sleeves and chest to ensure the jacket looks balanced from every single angle.

Typography: Bold Varsity Slab-Serif (for authority) combined with an elegant, retro Brush Script (for community culture).
Color Palette: Deep Ocean Blue (base fabric) contrasted with Cream/Off-White (sleeves) and energized by a Warm Mustard Yellow outline.
Iconography: Custom circular tech-medallion patches representing "Computer Science" using geometric circuitry motifs arranged in a classic laurel wreath.

FINAL SOLUTION

The result is a highly-coveted, premium varsity jacket that perfectly captures the "Unstoppable Since Day One" ethos. By combining clean tech symbolism with retro sports layout patterns, the design successfully bridges professional faculty pride with premium lifestyle streetwear, creating an impactful identity piece for the Amikom Purwokerto tech community.
